The Ohio AIDS Coalition offers educational and informative programs to the entire Ohio HIV community. These programs are designed to educate both service providers and people living with HIV across Ohio. We have large annual programs, listed separately to the left, and smaller programs designed for the particular needs of that audience and community.
Currently we’re presenting the following programs around Ohio:Disclosure and Criminalization
This interactive program will give participants a better understanding of the HIV Criminalization laws while assisting them with navigating the process of disclosing their status.
Sister 2 Sister
This program is dedicated to HIV+ women. Sister 2 Sister will address both the physical and mental needs of HIV+ women, empowering them to live holistically well. Topics that are covered include disclosure, healthy relationships, STIs, and medication adherence.
Health Insurance 101
In this program we discuss the ins and outs of health insurance jargon, the ACA, Medicaid, Medicare/MyCare and their intersections with Ryan White, and enrolling PLWHA in health insurance. Depending on the audience, we also discuss how to pick the right provider for you, preventative care, and tips on staying engaged in care.
Community and service provider programs are available by request, on a wide variety of subjects such as:
- Health Insurance 101
- HIV 101
- HIV and Mental Health
- HIV and Stigma
- HIV and STIs
OAC is also committed to working with you on programs that you think should be developed to better serve the needs of your community. For a list of upcoming events, please see our calendar.
